I have a very cool daughter

Even though it wasn't "Take Your Daughter to Work Day" I brought Sarah into the office yesterday. I have a double office all to myself so there was plenty of room for her. The firm I work for is a very cool place, so she was welcomed by all and I got to introduce her to lots of the people I work with everyday. She got a chance to see my routine and how David and I slog our way into NYC everyday on the Silver Snail (a.k.a. LIRR) and then a further slog through the subway system to the office. She did remark as we were going back on the subway to Penn Station that now she understands why we like to have dinner ready when we get home - the commute is exhausting!
Poor kid, she was kind of wiped by the end of the day.
However, the fun part was really getting to see what an amazing young lady she is growing into. She is poised, articulate, good with people and always respectful. She kept herself busy all day while I worked, reading, chatting on her favorite teen hangout website and drawing pictures for me on my white board. As a parent, this is very gratifying.
