So I guess I should post an update of what happened since my post about working in Boston.  The company in Boston was OK, they took pretty good care of me in my crazy commute back and forth.  However, when the chips fell a bit and they lost a couple of big clients someone started compiling a list of who they could get rid of.  Gee, here's the chick we're paying a big salary to and we're also covering her travel costs between NY and Boston.  Seems like she ought to have a bull's eye on her back!  Didn't matter that I spoke to them about this VERY thing before I accepted the job with them.  Of course I received the usual assurances of how they were in this for the long haul, yadda yadda.  When the bottom line looms, pack your bags and head back home.

Fortunately, the law firm I had temped at last year still hadn't found someone to head up their Litigation Support department and they were only too happy to bring me back into the fold, now as a permenant person with an ID and everything.  I even have my name on my office door!  This is the best place I've ever worked - nicest people, coolest firm, I never want to leave.  Sorry [personal profile] otis, but I love it even more than when we were all stuffed in that little room.  But just  by a little.

So now I'm back in NYC, with the aforesaid office, a nice secretary, an assistant and the best bunch of attorneys this side of the Pond.  Speaking of the Pond, the office is based in London and they are sending me there this summer.  So I'm going to California at the end of this month on Yahoo!'s dime and to London and Colchester, England for the firm.  Then comes the annual trip to Vermont.  Sounds like a good summer to me.

As far as other things, we moved into a new and much bigger and nicer place in March and David moved in with us.  We're going to celebrate 2 years together at the end of this month and that makes me very happy.

Here's a picture I took when we went to the Lilac Festival in Rochester, NY in May.  How can you not love a man who loves to see lilacs?
