Ramblings and Ruminations

Yes - it's officially Autumn!!  My favorite season is here at last!!  Cuddly warm sweaters, visits to the orchard and farm stands, baking apple pies, crisp cool mornings and chilly evenings wrapped up in a quilt and David's arms.  I know it means the days are getting shorter and there is less daylight, but this is still my favorite time of year.  It means Thanksgiving - my favorite holiday, and the birthdays of both of my children and the leaves changing and a foliage trip or two and taking pictures of pretty things and no more humidity!!

Wish I was outside now.

We're going to Vermont!  Taking a three day weekend and heading up to the place we love best.  The foliage is peaking late this year so we should see some good color.  And even if we don't, I don't care.  I need some time away from work and home and stress.  I need the peace of the Green Mountains and some good Cabot cheddar and some Lake Champlain chocolate and some cider from the mill.  I need time with David alone so we can just be together, not running from home to work and back and then out again to do food shopping and then to the dry cleaner and all the other mundane things that steal our time.

Damn, I can't insert a picture in here because we are so locked down here at work!  Rats.  Well, imagine a really great picture of foliage that I took last October in Vermont.

Sigh.. back to work.
