I can't believe I haven't posted in a week.  Oy.  Not that anyone out there is waiting with bated breath for my every word, but I do enjoy jotting things down here and it boggles me that I haven't done it for so long.

Work has been... well... perhaps the less said about that the better.  What's been going on here for the last couple of weeks deserves its own entry and I'm just not ready to do that.  Suffice it to say I am still employed but the bloom, perhaps, is a little off the rose.  Well, one petal at least.

The concert was great.  Josh Groban has such an amazing voice - it gets me every time.  I know a lot of his material is on the sappy side and I was kind of embarrassed by all the middle aged ladies who were crowding the stage at times but Sarah and I had a blast.  The tickets I bought were rather high up in the stratosphere of Nassau Coliseum.  The good seats were over twice as much and I just didn't want to blow a huge wad on this.  But they were at least close to the stage, so we'd see OK as long as I brought the binoculars.  Which I did.  However, once the opening act started a woman with an official-looking badge squatted by my seat and asked me how many were in my party and would we like to move down?  Are you kidding??  She gave me 2 tickets for section 102 - we were 4 rows from the floor and right by the stage, close enough to just about touch Josh when he made one of his many visits to stage right.  It was wonderful - especially for Sarah, since this was her first real concert.  I guess they had trouble selling out some of the pricey areas of the arena and they didn't want poor Josh to have hurt feelings so they gave away a lot of tickets and filled in all the areas he could see from the stage.

He didn't sing all the older songs I would have loved to hear, but he did sing many of them and he was charming, cute, funny and sang like a dream.

And yes, I will confess that I screamed like a 14 year old seeing The Beatles for the first time when he came on stage.  Sarah got a good laugh over it, but she screamed too.

I'm really glad we went.  It was a memorable evening.

So tonight is date night and we're going to see The Simpsons Movie and have dinner at our favorite tex mex place near Times Square.  I'm hoping for some downtime this weekend.  I need it badly.

I finished the 7th Harry Potter book - I made it last as long as I could but I finished it on Tuesday.  Sigh.  I don't want to post any spoilers but it was really really good.

This weekend, I have Charles de Lint books to read and laundry to do and a man to love.  Sounds pretty good to me.
