Ramblings and Ruminations

So David is winging his way down to Texas.  He rode in on the LIRR with me this morning, even though his flight didn't leave until about noon.  He's been very affectionate and almost clingy with me in the last week or so.  Might have something to do with me pulling away a little emotionally.  I do that when I feel threatened and scared.  I start to shut down some of my feelings in order to protect myself.  

I have an appointment with Elliot the Wonder Therapist for next Thursday at 3:30, ironically about an hour before David's plane lands back at Newark.  It was the first one I could get since Elliot is semi-retired these days and not keeping as many office hours.  I think it will do me a world of good to hash this out with him.  He knows me very well and went through all kinds of major life events with me.

So I have some things planned for my "bachelorette" time.  I'm having dinner on Saturday with Lauren, Aaron's girlfriend.  I'm having brunch on Sunday morning with my friends Lisa and Trish.  Trish is battling State 4 breast cancer and planning fun stuff with her is high on my list of things to do this year.  And I'm having dinner with another friend after work on Tuesday, so between all this and enjoying some down time I think the week will be fine.
