Ramblings and Ruminations

Trish went to Sloan Kettering yesterday for a second opinion - ALWAYS a good idea, in my opinion.  The doctor there said that because her cancer is "hormone driven" she would benefit from a treatment that would block her estrogen production.  So that's what they started immediately.  She said that the side effects from this treatment, while still not a walk in the park, would be easier on her than chemo.  So YAY for Sloan Kettering, second opinions and a ray of hope in a dark time.  While no one is talking cure, this treatment may well give her a few more good  years.  I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed.
