No fireworks

Sort of a weird 4th - no fireworks around here at all.  Rain started to move in during the afternoon and I think most people in the neighborhood who were going to shoot stuff off held off to the weekend.  The only things going off here were just noisy - loud and annoying, not pretty.  Of course around 1:30 in the morning Mother Nature sent off her own fireworks - we had a MAJOR thunderstorm that lasted for a while.  Lots of noise and light.

No fireworks in the bedroom, although someone said we would make our own.  Sigh.  Maybe this weekend.

So everyone here is at work today except me.  I have today and tomorrow off.  Of course, I have to hang around the house today cause I'm waiting for the Cablevision guy to come and switch my phone number over to their server.  I have programmed many a phone switch in my day and I cannot figure out for the life of me why this requires an in house visit.

Then I'm going to bake a real crumb cake.  Old-fashioned, tons of calories and should be yummy.
