OK, I'm putting the word out to all my shopping maven friends. Yes, Mark I am talking especially to you!

I have a stash of $600 that I have carefully saved up. I would like to use a chunk of it to get an HDTV. Not a gigantic one, but perhaps a 32" set. There are SO many different sets out there and so many places to buy. So I'm turning to you folks - where would you suggest I go? Online? Box store? Any suggestions on models? Brands?
I've been doing my research on Consumer Reports and I have a couple of sets that look good, but I am very open to suggestions.
