R.I.P. Charlotte
Oct. 16th, 2010 08:40 am You were the sweetest, strangest little cat I ever had. You came to us on your own, walking through the door one cold night just before Christmas and demanding a place in our home and in our hearts, which of course you got because you always got what you demanded in tribute. That's just the kind of kitty you were. I don't know what happened. You were never sick. You never showed any signs of being ill. But when we came home last night and I couldn't find you, I went looking. When I found you on the floor of Sarah's closet, I thought you were sleeping. It looked like you had just curled up there for a nap. But your spirit was gone, leaving just your body behind.
We're going to bury you in the backyard later today, next to Dylan. I know you didn't always get along too well in life, but maybe now the 2 of you can watch over the ones you left behind. Kimba and Thomas miss you both, and so do we.
You were such an affectionate cat, but always on your terms. I guess that's how you left. I wish I could stop crying.
Rob said that you had "kitty presence" and he was right. You always did.
