I really enjoy being on Facebook.  It is fun to reconnect with people, to see the pictures of my friend Ana's kids as they grow and enter adulthood, to hear about what people are thinking about first thing in the morning - all that jazz.  I've found old boyfriends, former co-workers, long-lost high school friends and even former fellow commuters.  I reconnected with a guy I dated in college when he was a big time DJ on the biggest station in Buffalo.  I have really fond memories of my time with Brian and was really astonished to find that he doesn't remember dating me at all.  At all!!  I'm not saying I was the love of his life, but it was a little painful to hear that he didn't have any recollection of our time together.  Well, in keeping with the retro stuff that's been going around FaceBook, I scanned and posted this picture.

This is me, circa 1977.  Weird, isn't it?

Anyway, when I did that suddenly the floodgates of Brian's memory opened up and he did in fact remember me, all about me.  Lots of details, things I hadn't thought of in ages.  For instance, how our relationship was bittersweet because he knew I was leaving Buffalo soon, which I really didn't think he cared about but evidently he did.  Anyway, it was nice to be remembered.

I also heard from someone I worked with about 14 years ago today.  She sent me a message via LinkedIn and wanted to reconnect.  The Interwebs is a mysterious and magical place.  It's also getting harder and hard to hide, if you don't want to be found.

Thanks for all the advice and support on my last post.  I really appreciate it all and I am taking your words to heart.  David is leaving on Thursday to go to Texas for a week to visit his mom and the rest of his family, so I'll have some time to myself and a chance to think.  I might call my old therapist and ask him for a tune up.

What happened to this sunny-looking girl?
