Ahh, Vermont...
Oct. 5th, 2009 06:24 amThe weekend up in Vermont with the kids was great. It was SO good to see them!! Well, mostly we saw Sarah. Aaron was a little preoccupied with something we brought with us: his girlfriend, Lauren. We only saw them for dinner on Friday and then breakfast on Sunday. But Sarah hung out with us the whole time and it was sooooo nice to be able to hug her whenever I wanted. She's doing great up at college - they both are. I'm really proud of how well they are adjusting, managing their time and getting good grades.
Sarah's dorm room situation has improved greatly. One of her room mates in the squished triple got a transfer over to another dorm, so now Sarah and her room mate Nichole are by themselves. UVM came and removed the extra bed and desk, so now they have a much more spacious setup and Sarah doesn't have to climb up to the top bunk anymore. And she has underbed storage so she can use the cool shoe organizer I bought her.
In addition to Lauren, we brought up the requisite goody bags of stuff, some indulgent, some practical. I went to Trader Joe's and got them both a bunch of the healthy snack stuff they like and boxes of English Breakfast tea, mugs from home and apples from the orchard trip last weekend. All items were appreciated.
I've posted some pictures of the fun and foliage here.
Hard to be back home again, but we're going up again in less than three weeks!!
So, how was YOUR weekend?
