Still a hurting puppy from Monday evening's dental adventures, but I am happy to report that the discomfort did not take anything away from my enjoyment of Wicked last night.  Sarah and I had a blast!  She came into Penn Station around 5 and then we went up to Times Square and had dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (yes, they make you answer trivia questions about the movie... oy).

From there we wandered up to the theater on 51st Street and went to the show.  We had pretty good seats - left-hand orchestra, 6th row.  There were 4 seats at the center aisle on our row that were never occupied so we all moved down and had a better view for the second act.

The show was great!  I wish we could have seen the original cast, but the performers last night were very good.  The staging, costumes and lighting were terrific.  After knowing the songs for so long, it was great to be able to put the story around it.  I loved the way they worked in almost all the touchstones from what we all know as "The Wizard of Oz" into this story, but showing the "real truth" behind it all.  Huge laugh line - Elphiba visits her sister after her rebellion against the Wizard and says "Well, there's no place like home."

The show ended just in time for us to hop on the subway and get down to Penn for the 10:05 PM train.  David picked us up at the station and we were all tucked into our respective beds by 11:20 or so.

All except my son.... who seems to have a girlfriend suddenly.  With hickies.  Yes, he tells me WAY too much.  I reminded him that since they both work at CVS they know where the condoms are located and NOT to make me a grandmother any time soon.

So tired.  Must get to work.
