It was a very nice Mothers' Day. I did wake up a little earlier than I wanted to, courtesy of my other daughter, Tessa. (For those who do not know, Tessa is Sarah's best friend. They've been friends since they were in second grade. If I'm wrong about that,
proseofasparrow will come along and correct me, I'm sure. Tessa has been one of my three "other" daughters.) Tessa texted me at 8 AM this morning to wish me a happy Mothers' Day. Can't really get mad at her for that. My other other daughter, Christine, waited until a much more reasonable 4 PM.
The weather was incredible today, but I didn't actually go outside and see much of it. For *ahem* female reasons, bed was a good place for me this weekend so I gave myself permission to be fairly slug-like. David made me a lovely breakfast in bed - no, he didn't actually COOK it in bed! - and I lazed about quite a bit before throwing myself into the shower. I almost napped this afternoon but my friend Lorraine called for our traditional Mom's Day call. We had a good chat, something that is all too infrequent these days now that she is working full-time. She is the mother of my other other other daughter, Jennifer, who is still off at college.
Sarah and Aaron conspired to make a wonderful dinner and dessert as my present. Sarah made pork roast with an apple cider-ish sauce, cilantro rice, asparagus and tomato salad and cole slaw with dried cranberries. So yummy! Aaron made what has become the traditional Mothers' Day chocolate mousse, with fresh raspberries. Sooooo good!
The Mets have won 7 games in a row, the sun will shine tomorrow and I am loved. What more could I ask for?
