From 1980, but just as relevant today. )
Oh the price of gold is rising out of sight
And the dollar is in sorry shape tonight
What the dollar used to get us
Now won't buy a head of lettuce
No the economic forecast isn't right
But amidst the clouds I spot a shining ray

I can even glimpse a new and better way
And I've demised a plan of action
Worked it down to the last fraction
And I'm going into action here today

CHORUS:
I am changing my name to Chrysler
I am going down to Washington D.C.
I will tell some power broker
What they did for Iacocca
Will be perfectly acceptable to me
I am changing my name to Chrysler
I am headed for that great receiving line
So when they hand a million grand out
I'll be standing with my hand out
Yes sire I'll get mine

When my creditors are screaming for their dough
I'll be proud to tell them all where they can all go
They won't have to scream and holler
They'll be paid to the last dollar
Where the endless streams of money seem to flow
I'll be glad to tell them what they can do
It's a matter of a simple form or two
It's not just renumeration it's a liberal education
Ain't you kind of glad that I'm in debt to you

CHORUS

Since the first amphibians crawled out of the slime
We've been struggling in an unrelenting climb
We were hardly up and walking before money started talking
And it's sad that failure is an awful crime
Well it's been that way for a millenium or two
But now it seems that there's a different point of view
If you're a corporate titanic and your failure is gigantic
Down to congress there's a safety net for you

CHORUS

Here's how it works

1. Leave me a comment saying you want to do the meme.
2. I'll respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You should update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You should include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

Here are the questions that [livejournal.com profile] isis_lives  asked me:

 1. What do you do at work? (I'm asking because I can't figure it out.)

Litigation support is a little weird, I will admit.  A lot of people have no idea what I do for a living, but I don't mind explaining.

So, in a nutshell, when Company A sues Company B they go into a process called Discovery, where they have to turn over documents and other information to each other.  If you've ever seen My Cousin Vinny and the and the scenes where he gets the documents from the DA, you've seen discovery albeit on a small scale.  All of those documents and emails, which are almost all in electronic form now, have to be processed and put into databases so the attorneys can review them.  They have to go through ALL of that stuff and see if it is OK to turn it over to the other side.  My job is to manage the process that gets the data into the databases.  I deal with vendors a lot because much of this work has to be outsourced, I work with the case teams to find out where the data is, when is it coming in, how much is there, etc.  My job can be kind of all consuming at times - when a case is in active review and production my assistant and I have to be available at all hours of the day and night and weekends.  It's crazy at times, but I do enjoy it.

2. What style are your home and furnishings?

We live in a nice 2 story home, plus basement.  Does that make it 3 stories?  My decorating style is heavily centered around the color green, natural woods and leaves.  I like stuff I find at craft fairs - handmade items in glass, wood and ceramic.  I love Mission style furniture and I have quite a few pieces of it.  I like calming colors, natural fibers and minimal amounts of clutter.

3. You've won a trip to go anywhere in the world you want. Where would you go? What one person would you take with you?

Ooo... hard one.  The person is easy - definitely David.  I love my kids but I'd take him.  As for place... I want to go so many places: Italy, England, France, Russia, Greece.  I think I'd have to pick Italy - a tour of the whole country.

4. Do you meditate? Have you ever?

I have never done formal meditation but I do use some of the calming, focusing techniques.  I have a book on meditation.  I should probably read it sometime, shouldn't I?

5. If you could have dinner with one of your heroes (dead or alive), who would it be? Where would you be?

My hero has always been Eleanor Roosevelt.  I would take her to The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan for tea in the special round room with the lovely mural that makes you feel like you are in a garden.
