1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Went to England.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never really make them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I know of... although a few friends became grandparents and one person at work adopted a lovely little boy.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No but someone dear to me is not doing well.
5. What countries did you visit?
See #1.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Peace of mind.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The first week of September when David and I went to Vermont by ourselves for the whole week and had the best vacation ever.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Keeping some of my sanity intact.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Only God will know the answer to that.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a weird thing called a Baker's cyst behind my right knee which hobbled me for a bit and David dropped a chair on my foot and broke my toe but other than that I was pretty healthy. (Knocking on wood very firmly.)
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Lilly, my new GPS system. What can I say - I'm a gadget freak.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My daughter's.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Pretty much every celebrity in the news.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Into my kids in one form or another.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to England - it was a highlight of my year.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
None in particular - I don't listen to current music on the radio.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same, perhaps a few pounds lighter.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer, but not by a lot.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Trips to Vermont.
19.What do you wish you'd done less of?
Working. My job can sometimes be all consuming.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With David and the kids, opened presents, had cocoa with a candy cane in it, made a lovely dinner (standing rib roast, roasted potatoes, green beans) and we all got dressed up for the occasion.
22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
I fell more in love with David. Sappy, but true.
23. How many one-night stands?
None - not my style.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
House and Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, I try not to hate anyone. Waste of emotion.
26. What was the best book you read this year?
The Secret Life of Bees
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Didn't discover anyone new.
28. What did you want and get?
The DVD for Stardust and a gift certificate for a massage.
29. What did you want and not get?
A bottle of Chambord liqueur.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Waitress, hands down.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 49 and David took me out for dinner.
32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting a better raise.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Classic and relaxed with probably too much black. I do resolve to wear more bright colors this year.
34. What kept you sane?
David and my kids.

None really.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The sad state of our own government.
37. Who did you miss?
My parents, Brenda, Uncle Sonny, Steve.

My assistant, Chris. Definitely a real asset.

Sometimes the old adage about one door closing and another door opening is really true.
