Hot day today. Really hot. Insane hot. Oven quality hot. Temp reading on the car's little thermometer thingie read 102 around 3 PM. So yeah, it's hot.
We've had a peaceful day. Sarah went to Philadelphia to visit her best friend Jenni who goes to Bryn Mawr and is staying there over the summer. I think they are having fun - haven't heard much from them but Sarah has updated her FaceBook page so I know she is OK. The cell phone reception at Jenni's apartment is as horrible as it is here in our house so when I tried to call Sarah last night, her phone didn't ring. She's coming home tomorrow on the bus; should be in NYC by 5ish and then she'll take the LIRR home.
So David and I have the house to ourselves because Aaron is, of course, over at his girlfriend Lauren's house. We don't see him much.
Sarah took her driver's test on Thursday but she failed. I know she is a really good driver. It seems like the inspectors flunk everyone routinely on their first try. Between Sarah and her friends and Aaron and all of his friends and Lauren and all of her friends, they don't know anyone who passed on their first try. Not sure why, but that's what seems to be happening.
Work has been crazy busy. I taught 6 sessions on Thursday (from home, which was nice) and 6 on Friday. I have 6 more scheduled for Monday, so I am going to work from home again. It just doesn't make sense to make a 4 hour commute (round trip, door to door) to sit in my office with the door closed the whole time on the conference calls. So I'll stay home in the AC and spare myself the horrors of the LIRR and the NYC subway system.
I've been getting a boat load of calls from recruiters lately. There seems to be a lot of activity in my area, which is nice. But I'm not looking to make any changes right now. I like this job and I want to take it remote to Vermont. If I change jobs, that's probably not happening any time soon. So far the plan is to move next Spring. That's what I'm working towards.
OK, David can't take the game either. We're going for ices!!
