Magellan GPS Sucks
Apr. 20th, 2009 04:56 pmFor anyone considering the purchase of a GPS, do not buy a Magellan unit. They suck. Moose. I've had mine for about a year and a half. When it works, it was great. However, the unit kept insisting that it had no charge left, even though it sits on the charger in the car all the time. It kept saying it was dangerously low on battery level and shut itself off. Over and over. Every time I called the manufacturer they gave me some other thing to do: reboot it, download the latest firmware upgrade, etc. I did everything they told me and all it got me was to be strung along long enough to have the warranty expire and for the o so polite gentleman on the phone to tell me there was nothing he could do for me.
Bullcrap. He offered me the "opportunity" to pay more money for a refurbished identical unit. No thank you. I already paid good money for this one and it doesn't work. I'm not paying more money for the same thing.
So, anyone have a GOOD experience with their GPS? What brand?
