The Beginning of Pie Day

Just a short entry - more later.

Today is the beginning of Pie Day. We are heading out to my favorite orchard - http://www.milk-pail.com/visitusanytime.htm - to pick pounds and pounds of apples which will be magically made into many pies. My favorite Granny Smiths aren't ripe yet, but I can use Mutsu apples and it will be fine.

Let the baking begin.

I will give up cursing and I will smile more. I will attend services every Sunday. I will stop saying bad things about the Pope. I will try to curb my case of keyboard-Tourette's.

Just please, please, please make sure I manage to get my hands on some of that pie and that I don't miss out like I did on the chicken-fried steak.

Have no fear, supplicant. There will be pie for you, pie for your neighbors undergoing a hard time and there might even be pie for a bunch of former co-workers, if they play their cards right.
